If a saying that “A nation that fears the Lord Prospers” is something to go by, then Bomet County that has been popularly known for political feuds, is now set for greatness.
This comes with the inauguration of a down to earth altar boy to be the third Bomet Governor.
Entry educationist Dr. Hillary Barchok who since his school time and even teaching career headed Christian Union is a clear indication that Bomet is changing from a political battlefield to a religious county headed by an anointed leader who has the blessing of all political quarters at the county and blessing from both the ruling party and opposition wing.
Because of his innocent personality depicted by humility was taken as weakness and many thought that might not be able to handle heated political hotbed. This earned him sympathies from all corners
Besides bringing in fresh blood, he is a devoted Christian who doesn’t like physical confrontation with political rivals.
His biography indicates that throughout his life has been an altar boy who served in Sunday school and engaged in church activities before he rose to CU chairperson in Kericho High school and Egerton University.
Since the devolved units became operational in 2013, Bomet has not only seen different kinds of leaders but has had three phases of configuration and now set to be a religious devolved unit.

His leadership was followed by governor Laboso, a professional leader, that swept weird habits and now comes a young, educated and a religious man whose humility is likened with Kind David in the bible who was chosen at a tender age.
Isaac could be easily defined as a rowdy leader, Joyce a straightforward and professional and now a humble God’s servant.
As Barchok takes over, MPs, MCAs, and neighbouring jubilee leaders have pledged to accord him all support to deliver his mandate but the only threat is sensed from former Governor Isaac Ruto who is scheming for a comeback in 2022 and Bomet Central MP Ronald Tonui who is also eying for the seat.
Until when he was pulled out by a team of advisers that schemed the gubernatorial campaigns of Dr. Joyce Laboso, Barchok served as a Dean of Students at Chuka University. He had no thoughts of joining murky waters of politics, but his good reputation prompted the team to settle on him.
He is a Curriculum development specialist who schooled at Kericho High, Egerton University and pursued his doctorate degree at Moi University.
He also served as a local church assistant pastor. The County Senator Dr. Christopher Langat, on the other hand, is a trained pastor who earned a degree in theology from Daystar University.
He was this morning inaugurated
