Experts say Itumbi’s Arrest a Diversionary Move to end Assassination Probe

Denis Itumbi with the Deputy President William Ruto

The topical assassination claims by the Deputy President William Ruto allegedly plotted by four untouchable Cabinet secretaries from Mt. Kenya has taken another dramatic twist that according to political analysts is either due investigation process or a diversionary move aimed to abate the seriousness of the threats from the minds of Kenyans.

The twist was witnessed by the arrest of Communication Strategist in the office of the Deputy President Denis Itumbi who was arrested by Flying Squad officers at City Hall and taken to DCI headquarters along Kiambu road for questioning.

A few days ago, Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya, Joe Mucheru, Sicily Kairuki, and James Macharia ostensibly did series of meetings at a Thika-road hotel to plan how to do away with Deputy President in connection of the impending succession politics of 2022.

Moments after Itumbi’s arrest, Elgeiyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen twitted that the arrest is a strategy to divert attention from the La Mada meeting questioning whether the PS in charge of DCI said DP Ruto must be stopped Saitoti way.

“The arrest of Ole Itumbi is a strategy to divert attention from the Lamada meeting. Was there a meeting? Did the PS in charge of DCI say Ruto must be stopped the Saitoti way? Who complained about the assassination? And to who? The authenticity of the allegations is more important than a letter” he twitted

Many Kenyans are wondering how the DCI will treat the matter professionally while the Principal Secretary in Charge of Interior Karanja Kibicho is confidently biased siding towards Mt. Kenya politics and driving a key agenda of 2022 succession politics.

“Impunity is now dominating the leadership of this country. How can the President allow people handling sensitive position paramount to national security play outright politics when they are expected to be neutral?” John Musa questioned?

Recently made a post that defended the Deputy President by posting the latter’s screenshot beside Mutahi Ngunyi’s when he termed Raila as the Lord of poverty who sucks blood from the poor.

Before the handshake, Itumbi was the Presidency Director of Digital Communication based in Statehouse but was kicked out over the suspicion of leaking top secrets to DP Ruto’s divide.

Locals want the security operatives to stop being used to drive political agenda and remain true to their calling for the interest of harmonious coexistence in the country.

“Kenya is headed to doom where a few people in control of power and security agencies use it recklessly to undermine the weak. This is sheer impunity that the President must curtail otherwise the seeds of discourse are being soured” Shadrack Khaniri said

Barely a week ago, the controversial blogger Robert Alai was arrested for allegedly sharing pictures of policemen who were killed in Sunday’s terror attack in Wajir but moments after Itumbi’s arrest, Alai said the massive arrests are targeting people thought to be close to DP Ruto adding that the whole of his interrogation was never asked anything to do with terrorism but whom he communicates within the office of Ruto.

Interesting times are ahead as Kenyans are eager to hear the FBI reports and the DCI conclusion on the claimed assassination of William Ruto whose vibrancy has troubled the moneyed dynasties.

The dynasties in the recent past have shown a rare unity that is aimed at retaining the presidency after 2022 within their quarters ao as to guard their expansive wealth etched in different sectors.
