The office of Kuresoi South Member of Parliament Hon. Joseph Tonui has confirmed that 120 kilometres of roads have been graded and gravelled under his patronage in 2017/18 financial year.
According to MP’s aide Newton Bii, who shared the report, several roads athwart the constituency were trashy and posed challenges of conveying farm produce to the market and factories but farmers have now taken a sigh of relief.
“With the efforts of Hon. Tonui within one year, farmers across the four wards who used to count losses when their produce perished on the roads as tractors stuck have started making profits” he said
He adds, “The MP who is the patron of roads construction is devoted to make transport challenge into a story of the past”
The roads that are now passable include: Olenguruone-Nyambugo-Chepakundi , Kiplemeiywo-Lelpanga ,Chemaner-Geticha-Taita, Keringet-Kapkores-Nyagacho-Kapalan-MiaTatu, Arorwet-Kiptagich, Mtimoja-Kapkembu, Kiptagich-Konoin-Arorwet, Geticha-Kapno, Ambusket-Kaplamai, Kiplemeiwo-Lelpanga, Kiplemeiwo-Kimororoch, Keringet-Tembwo, Sachagwan-Milimet-Bararget-Kilombero, Tendwet-Chebaraa-Kapkores-Mtimoja-Siwot ,. Chebaraa-Kipsotet and Chemaner-kimugul road.
The Kiplemeiywo-Lelpanga road will see tea farmers in Lelpanga, Tachasis, Kipkongor, Kimororoch, Timbwalo, and Kapkeet to transport their leaves to Kiptagich factories with no difficulty.
