As Deputy President William Ruto’s powerful enemies are keen to clip his political wings, if you are a CEO regarded close to him, prepare to face the machete of Mt. Kenya mafia and Raila’s unmerited entry to government’s kitchen through the backdoor.

Few weeks after meeting Raila in his Capitol Hill offices, the Agriculture CS Mr. Mwangi Kiunjuri has shown the door the National Cereals and Produce Board MD Albin Sang to join other senior Kalenjin leaders who have lost jobs.

“Kiunjuri was wounded when EACC cleared DP Ruto’s Koilel Farm for irregular supply of grains to the NCPB in 2017. He believes that Albin played key role” a source at the NCPB revealed.

Sources privy to Raila-Kiunjuri meeting disclosed that privatization of sugar companies in Western Kenya and taming Ruto from working with parastatal chiefs under his ministry topped the chat.

Until his ill-timed sacking, Sang was the only remaining Kalenjin heading a parastatal.

The prevalent sacking of Kalenjin senior leaders in government is part of the wider drive to contain Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 ambitions by knocking out who could play a key role in resource mobilization for him.

Kalenjin leaders who have fallen victims of 2022 boardroom intrigues include former KNH CEO Lily Koros, NHIF Finance Director Wilbert Kurgat, KPLC MD Dr. Ken Tarus, Kenya Pipeline Corporation Joe Sang.

Other DP’s allies who were earlier witch-hunted were former KPC MD Linus Cheruiyot, who was charged for a computer tender deal worth Sh339 million, Justice Samuel Tunoi, IEBC Commissioner Paul Kurgat,  Davis Chirchir

To ensure they are completely wiped some were taken to court, others are yet to be arraigned, while others opted to just call it a day their careers and pursue other things.

To prove that Mt. Kenya are opposed to Ruto’s rise, when the commercial exploitation of the Turkana oil began, Petroleum was removed from the Energy docket that was held by his ally Charles Keter and taken to the Mining docket being headed by John Munyes.

This move was part of the wider move to constrict the flow of funds to the Ruto 2022 wallet.

All Kalenjin leaders who have been fired have been replaced by those from other communities.
